Many students have continued to praise the innitiative taken by the SUG President, Cmr. Abdulrahaman Zanna Sunoma and his cabinet to organise such an even which was the first of its kind.

The event was such an opportunity for all Christian students and even Muslims to come together and have a feel of the Christmas season and the love and happiness that come alongside it. The event gave many talented artists (ranging from comedians, MCs, musicians, dancers, choreographers and lots more) in Unimaid an opportunity to display their talents amidst cheers from all students at the event venue.

“President (Abdurahaman Zanna Sunom) and his cabinet organized the hangout to commemorate the birth of Christ and to give all the Christian students in Unimaid a sense of belonging.

The hangout was attended by the SUG president, other SUG officials and students from the length and breadth of the university (both Christians and Muslims) as well as the Presidents of the two Christian bodies on Campus (Fellowship of Christian Students, FCS and Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students, NFCS).

The event is one of the most colorful in a very long time and the SUG president thanked all and sundry for turning up enmass to celebrate this memorable and spiritual event.

The president also emphasized tolerance, love, empathy and compassion as the Christ prophesied.
The event ended cheerfully amidst dancing singing and other merriment programs after which students went back with lots of packages and smiling faces.”

Most of the students who spoke to Unimaidgist expressed their joy and asked that the culture be continued as it would further strengthen the love and togetherness of all students irrespective of their religion, also it will serve as a way of making students enjoy Christmas even if they cannot go home to celebrate with their families.
