The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has insisted that the union’s proposed nationwide strike must commence till all demands are met by the Federal Government.

Unimaidgist understands that the major reason behind the strike is the implementation of a new salary scheme for the polytechnic lecturers.

Unimaidgist had earlier reported that  According to the union, the industrial action kicks off on Tuesday, April 6th and is indefinite. This declaration follows a meeting with Federal Government officials in Abuja this afternoon.

In addition to the new salary scheme, the union is as well demanding payment of salaries and promotion allowances owed her members by some state governments.
