The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB has today, 16th June, 2020 during its 20th Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria approved 160 and above as the national minimum benchmark for admission for the year 2020 into public universities.
The Policy meeting which had in attendance critical stakeholders was held virtually. JAMB also approved 140 as minimum Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination score for admission into private UNIVERSITIES. 120 UTME score was approved for Polytechnics, while 100 was approved for Colleges of Education, innovative enterprises and institutes.
During the meeting, JAMB Registrar, Ishaq Oloyede, warned heads of tertiary institutions not to charge aspiring candidates above N2000 as admission screening charges.
